ALL WORKSHOPS ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED in person - signing up in Sched does not guarantee you a spot in a session. However, planning your day in Sched really helps us anticipate any potential need to make room changes.

If you create a free account, you can plan and edit your schedule. You may wish to select more than one session in a timeslot as a backup, in case your first choice of session is full.

On the right side of the schedule you can filter by grade band. This will include the sessions which span more than one grade band. You may also wish to view the Schedule as Expanded.

Attendees will explore these routines and some resources that can be used in their classroom right away. An interactive session where attendees can share their experiences and conversations that will enrich their experience. Some templates (digital) will be shared for attendees to use immediately.

Shifting Teacher and Administrator Mindset and Practice to Shatter the Illusion of Learning and Grow Mathematicians
Friday October 25, 2024 1:35pm - 2:50pm PDT
When what we do in the classroom doesn’t feel like it is working, we often revert back to how we were taught: giving hints, showing how to do the work/solve the problem, etc. While this comes from the best of intentions and might feel like learning is happening what often occurs is a cycle of less and less empowerment, identity and agency for our students (and teachers). We propose shifts that support students thinking and sharing ideas and teachers shifting to a mediator of student thinking.
