That's so Meta! Teaching Students to be Thinkers and Doers
Saturday October 26, 2024 8:30am - 9:45am PDT
How do we help students who struggle when overwhelmed with complex science and math tasks? Numeracy requires students to develop the ability, confidence and willingness to make meaning of a variety of text forms and connect the tasks that they are working through to prior knowledge. In this session, we will share teaching tools and explore teacher moves that develop literacy in a mathematical context, teach self-monitoring skills and promote higher-level thinking to increase student success.
