Welcome to the Sched site for the Northwest Mathematics Conference!

ALL WORKSHOPS ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED - signing up in Sched does not guarantee you a spot in a session. However, planning your day in Sched really helps us anticipate any potential need to make room changes.

If you create a free account, you can plan and edit your schedule. You may wish to select more than one session in a timeslot as a backup, in case your first choice of session is full.

On the right side of the schedule you can filter by grade band. This will include the sessions which span more than one grade band. You may also wish to view the Schedule as Expanded.
Friday October 25, 2024 12:00pm - 1:15pm PDT
In this session, designed for 3rd-5th grade teachers, participants will explore lesson ideas, class openers and warm-up routines, and exploratory spaces that will engage students in thinking deeply about fractions and geometry. Participants will leave the session with the skills and knowledge to use these activities with their students, as well as the ability to immediately author their own activities using virtual manipulatives. The session will use the free virtual manipulatives and tools available on Polypad, part of Desmos Classroom.
