We employ sinusoidal models to analyze local tidal data and uncover the patterns within the traditional Indigenous practice of clam gardens. By applying mathematical concepts, we explore the relationship between tides, lunar cycles, and Earth's orbit, shedding light on the sustainability of clam garden ecosystems. Integrating both a Western and Indigenous lens, students gain insights into the practical applications of mathematics within cultural contexts. Personal reflection allow students to appreciate the significance of these practices in preserving Indigenous traditions and fostering environmental stewardship within communities.
