Welcome to the Sched site for the Northwest Mathematics Conference!

ALL WORKSHOPS ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED - signing up in Sched does not guarantee you a spot in a session. However, planning your day in Sched really helps us anticipate any potential need to make room changes.

If you create a free account, you can plan and edit your schedule. You may wish to select more than one session in a timeslot as a backup, in case your first choice of session is full.

On the right side of the schedule you can filter by grade band. This will include the sessions which span more than one grade band. You may also wish to view the Schedule as Expanded.

Social Media can be a powerful tool to discover and build an appreciation for your passions. As a math professor and YouTuber, I teach math in very different contexts. While physical classrooms allow for deep connections with students over time, online platforms offer unprecedented reach to inspire millions worldwide. In both, part of the goals of learning math is not just about developing a set of technical skills but building an appreciation and enjoyment for math. In this talk, I want to focus on the lessons I’ve learned from working in social media and how that has evolved my own pedagogical practices in the classroom.
