Welcome to the Sched site for the Northwest Mathematics Conference!

ALL WORKSHOPS ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED - signing up in Sched does not guarantee you a spot in a session. However, planning your day in Sched really helps us anticipate any potential need to make room changes.

If you create a free account, you can plan and edit your schedule. You may wish to select more than one session in a timeslot as a backup, in case your first choice of session is full.

On the right side of the schedule you can filter by grade band. This will include the sessions which span more than one grade band. You may also wish to view the Schedule as Expanded.

How can we help students make sense of important statistical concepts like margin of error, confidence level, P-value, and statistical significance? Freely-available, mobile-friendly applets promote student engagement and encourage statistical reasoning. In this session, we’ll examine: a collaborative activity applet, a probability applet, two data analysis applets that offer simulation-based and traditional inference methods, a confidence level concept exploration applet, and a simulation applet for estimating a P-value and determining statistical significance in a randomized experiment. Suggestions for classroom use will be provided.
