Welcome to the Sched site for the Northwest Mathematics Conference!

ALL WORKSHOPS ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED - signing up in Sched does not guarantee you a spot in a session. However, planning your day in Sched really helps us anticipate any potential need to make room changes.

If you create a free account, you can plan and edit your schedule. You may wish to select more than one session in a timeslot as a backup, in case your first choice of session is full.

On the right side of the schedule you can filter by grade band. This will include the sessions which span more than one grade band. You may also wish to view the Schedule as Expanded.

While building tetrahedron kites out of drinking straws, paper ribbons, and tissue paper is fun and colorful, we will not forget to look at the mathematics that might be hidden in them. We can count lengths and perimeter along the edges, see the areas on the faces and touch the volumes built in the kites. And then we will look for, find and discover all of the hidden tetrahedron numbers and find the connection between similar shapes. Why does the volume get to n^3.
