This model elevates teacher voice and practice while learning how to "talk about instruction" with a lens on improvement, growth, and peer mentorship. You will see how powerful self observation can be and how the partnership of a trusted peer can support growth in both educators. You and your team will leave inspired and ready to conduct this meaningful learning in your own school and department.

This workshop explores how to integrate AI tools like ChatGPT in math classrooms. It will feature a comprehensive presentation, along with hands-on activities focused on crafting effective prompts and developing custom GPTs to enhance efficiency. Participants will be introduced to innovative ways of utilizing ChatGPT in student-centered activities to boost learning outcomes. Additionally, an open discussion segment will allow participants to share experiences and ideas. The session is designed for both seasoned users and newcomers to AI, providing educators with practical skills and insights to effectively use AI in the classroom.

This session will chronicle our journey in developing and implementing a student portfolio focussed on the curricular competencies of perseverance and persistence in problem solving. Attendees will have an opportunity to experience the student process of developing a portfolio. We will also discuss how this portfolio was assessed, and provide a structure/template attendees can use and build on in their own classrooms.

In this hands-on math art workshop, we will start by exploring the Fibonacci/ Hemachandra/ bee number sequence and some examples of the beautiful Fib poetry written by Bridges Math and Art poets -- then write our own Fib poems! In the process, we'll discuss the reciprocal ways that mathematical forms can inspire and shape literary arts, and poetic works can spark deeper understandings of mathematics. We'll also talk about our experiences of using creative constraints to make both mathematics and the arts more approachable.

Through personal stories, neuroscience, and play, this workshop explores the intersection of math education and learning disabilities, highlighting how AI is transforming our roles as educators. We'll challenge traditional concepts of learning disabilities, showing how AI offers new pathways for those with diverse learning needs in math to engage with the world. Discover how AI not only reframes our understanding but also enriches math learning for all.
