About me
Hello!
My name is Tyler Clark. My personal pronouns are he/ his. I teach Chemistry and Math and I live in beautiful Vanderhoof, BC, the geographical center of BC and traditional, unceded territory of the Saik'uz First Nation, with my family as well as our 2 cats, 3 dogs, 5 horses and chickens.
I grew up in Vanderhoof and have lived in various places across Canada including New Brunswick, Saskatchewan, Prince George as well as spending a year in Paris. I have a B.Sc in Chemistry from Mount Allison University, a B.Ed from UNBC, and a Masters in Educational Leadership from VIU. My masters research has focused on engaging students in a Thinking Classroom and Assessment. Before starting my career in education, I worked at a bank and an airline.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy skiing, swimming, hiking, SCUBA diving, travelling and spending time with family and friends around the table or campfire.
I LOVE teaching Math and Science and I strongly believe that these subjects do not need to be difficult or confusing! I encourage students to believe their abilities and think like a scientist and mathematician.
